The OlifeEnergy Wallbox SOLAR is a robust, durable Czech-made charging station that allows you to charge an electric car from your own photovoltaic power plant (PVE).
Wallbox is designed for charging all types of electric cars on the EU market with alternating current (AC). It charges up to 22 kW. The input power cable must be preceded by a Residual Current protective Device type A, with a max. rated current 40 A.
The solar module supports three main charging modes:
Electric Vehicle Charging Mode from PV Surplus:
DoubleBox SOLAR communicates with selected PV inverters (GoodWe (ET series), SOLAX, Dražice, Huawei (SUN2000)) for household photovoltaic power plants (PV) without the need to purchase an OlifeEnergy SmartMeter for main circuit breaker protection.
The solar module communicates with the photovoltaic inverter via Wi-Fi or 1 Ethernet ModBus TCP protocol over the local network (LAN). In addition, it facilitates remote management and configuration of the station over the local network. Cooperation with the inverter allows the station to control electric vehicle charging in order to achieve the highest possible charging speed with maximum efficiency of the solar energy produced for charging the vehicle from PV surpluses.
In this mode, the intensity of electric vehicle charging smoothly adapts to the current energy production from the photovoltaic system and the current household consumption. The main goal is to maximize the utilization of produced solar energy for charging and to minimize or completely prevent energy overflows back into the distribution grid. Charging will only start when there is an energy surplus corresponding to the minimum charging current of 6 A (due to vehicle characteristics). In this mode, a Grid Assistant can also be set up - purchasing missing amperes from the grid. For example, if I set a purchase of 3 A, then charging will start with surpluses as low as 3 A, as the sum will reach the required 6 A. This eliminates charging stops if, for example, a cloud comes and PV production decreases. The Grid Assistant always purchases only the maximum set value of amperes. If the surplus is higher, no purchase occurs. For example, if I have set a purchase of 3 A, but the surplus is 5 A, only 1 A is purchased. If the surplus is 7 A, nothing is purchased.
Circuit Breaker Protection Mode:
In this mode, the charging current is dynamically regulated so that the total current drawn by the household, including electric vehicle charging, does not exceed the set value of the main circuit breaker. If the total current on any phase exceeds the circuit breaker limit, charging will be limited or completely stopped after a time delay. Charging will automatically resume once the total electricity consumption in the household decreases enough that the total draw (household + minimum charging current 6 A) is below the main circuit breaker limit with a reserve (2 A).
Charging Control Mode Based on Battery State of Charge (SoC):
In this mode, charging is controlled based on the current state of charge of the household PV battery storage (SoC – State of Charge).
• Charging Start (SoC start): Charging will begin if the SoC level of the household battery reaches or exceeds the set 'SoC start' value.
• Charging Current Limitation (SoC limit): If the SoC of the household battery exceeds the set 'SoC limit' downwards, the charging current will be limited to the minimum value of 6 A per phase.
• Charging Stop (SoC stop): Charging will stop if the SoC of the household battery falls below the set 'SoC stop' level.
Robust construction and the possibility of indoor and outdoor use
Thanks to the degree of protection IP54, it is durable and suitable for outdoor use and installation in indoor spaces such as garages. It can be mounted on a wall or on a stand that is anchored to the ground (mount field).
This WallBox is equipped with a socket. Cable not included. We offer OlifeEnergy WallBox BASE chargers with EL-WB22-SOLAR-TC and EL-WB22-SOLAR-C cables.
The charging station can work locally. Charging therefore starts automatically as soon as the vehicle is connected or after identification with an RFID card. The power of the station can be controlled in the range of 0 - 43 kW by a local unit. The station is equipped with protection against electric current overload. Wallbox can be used for comfortable charging in smaller companies or at home.
The Solar management function for managing charging from photovoltaic power plants took the 2nd place in the 2023 Fleet of the Year survey.
