Teltonika network devices meet the latest requirements of the RED directive

Starting August 1, 2025, all Teltonika network devices will fully comply with the European RED Directive and meet the strictest current EU standards for safety, electromagnetic compatibility, efficient use of the radio spectrum, and now also cybersecurity. This ensures that Teltonika products are ready for the European market and meet the requirements for secure and reliable connectivity.

One of the advantages of the RED Directive is scalability and the ability to export to all EU countries, Switzerland, and Norway without the need for additional testing or certifications.

What is the RED Directive and why is it important?

The RED (Radio Equipment Directive) is the European Directive 2014/53/EU that sets requirements for radio equipment within the EU. Its purpose is to ensure that devices:

• do not endanger the health and safety of individuals,
• use the radio spectrum efficiently,
• meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements,
• comply with EU legislation,
• protect devices from unauthorized access,
• allow secure software updates,
• protect users’ personal data in accordance with GDPR.

The latest updates to the directive introduce mandatory cybersecurity requirements, increasing the level of protection for users, data, and networks when using connected devices.

What does RED DA compliance mean for Teltonika devices?

RED DA compliance means that the device has been thoroughly tested and meets the requirements of the RED Directive, specifically in accordance with standards such as:

• EN 301 489
• EN 301 511
• EN 301 908
• EN 62368-1

All Teltonika network devices are designed and manufactured in compliance with the RED Directive, ensuring high performance and long-term reliability. These devices are issued a Declaration of Conformity and are marked with the CE symbol, which applies to all devices with a radio transmitter.

It is important to note that maintaining compliance requires using the devices in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Non-compliance may occur in cases of improper configuration exceeding the certification scope, conflicts with radio regulations, or the use of non-standardized antennas.
