A home wallbox is a convenient way to keep your electric car ready to drive every day. Simply plug in the vehicle, let it charge overnight, and you can set off in the morning. However, to ensure that the charging station continues to operate reliably even after years of use, it is worth having it professionally inspected from time to time.

That is why we offer the Wallbox Service+ service. This regular maintenance of the charging station helps prevent faults, verify its technical condition, and ensure safe operation at home.

For company and public wallboxes, regular servicing is a standard part of operation. Households usually do not have to follow the same regime, but preventive inspection is still a sensible choice. A home wallbox also operates at high power, communicates with the vehicle, and is often used several times a week. In general, households are not required to have wallboxes inspected under the same regime as companies, but in some cases this may be required, for example, by an insurance company as part of home insurance or according to specific insurance terms.

For standard home use, we recommend a service inspection approximately once every 2 years.

Why is wallbox servicing worthwhile at home as well?

At first glance, a wallbox may seem like a simple device. You plug in the cable, the car charges, and that is it. In reality, however, it is an electrical device that operates under high load and includes protective elements, software, a connector, a cable, and communication with the vehicle.

Over time, normal wear and tear, weather conditions, humidity, dust, mechanical strain on the cable, or changes in the device settings may occur. The issue may not appear immediately. The wallbox may continue charging, but some parts may no longer be in ideal condition.

Regular servicing helps detect minor faults before they turn into a bigger problem. The technician checks the condition of the device, cable, connector, mounting, protective elements, software, and the charging process itself.

For modern wallboxes, servicing may also include checking the firmware, RFID, application, internet connection, power settings, or communication with other elements of home energy management.

A company-level standard also available for households

Companies service wallboxes regularly due to safety, operation, internal rules, and inspection requirements. For households, this obligation usually does not apply, but the principle is the same: the more regularly the device is used, the more sense prevention makes.

A home wallbox often operates unattended, for example overnight in a garage, parking space, or outside the house. That is why it is advisable from time to time to verify that the device is not only functional at first glance, but truly in good technical condition.

The Wallbox Service+ service brings households the level of care commonly used by companies, but in an accessible form for regular electric vehicle owners.

Recommended service interval for households

For company and public wallboxes, servicing is carried out more often depending on load, usage method, and operational requirements. For households, it is not necessary to follow the same interval.

For home charging stations, we recommend a service inspection approximately once every 2 years. This interval is especially suitable for wallboxes that are used regularly, installed outdoors, in a garage, in a more humid environment, or connected to photovoltaics or dynamic power management.

Basic Wallbox Service+ inspection

The basic service inspection is suitable for households that want to check the condition of their charging station and prevent unexpected problems.

The service is intended for MYBOX and Olife Energy wallboxes. We provide servicing only for these supported brands.

The basic service inspection also includes a service report, in which the customer receives an overview of the inspection performed and the condition of the device.

Price of the basic service inspection:

  • CZK 1,950 excluding VAT per wallbox
  • CZK 2,360 incl. VAT per wallbox

The price does not include travel costs.

Full Wallbox Service+ package with electrical inspection

For customers who want a more thorough inspection, we also offer a full service package with electrical inspection. This package is suitable primarily for companies, publicly accessible charging stations, apartment buildings, or intensively used wallboxes. However, it can also be used by households that want the inspection to be carried out in a broader scope.

In general, households do not have to carry out inspections under the same regime as companies. In some cases, however, this may be required, for example, by an insurance company as part of agreed home insurance or under specific insurance terms.

The full service package includes a service report as well as an electrical inspection report.

Price of the full service package with electrical inspection:

  • CZK 4,950 excluding VAT per wallbox
  • CZK 5,990 incl. VAT per wallbox

The price does not include travel costs.

What does the service inspection include?

During the service inspection, the technician focuses on the technical condition of the wallbox, safety, functionality, and any signs of wear. The aim is not only to verify that the wallbox charges, but also to check parts that a regular home user cannot assess.

Visual inspection of the device

The technician checks the condition of the housing, mounting, seals, LED indicators, cable, connector, and the overall quality of the installation. Mechanical damage, humidity, dirt, looseness, or other visible signs of wear are monitored.

Inspection of the cable and connector

The charging cable and connector are among the most heavily stressed parts of the wallbox. During normal use, they are handled several times a week, sometimes even daily. Their condition, cleanliness, wear, and correct function when connected to the vehicle are therefore checked.

Electrical inspection

The service includes checking the connection, circuit protection, and protective elements. The technician verifies whether the wallbox shows any signs of a fault, overheating, or another issue that could affect charging safety.

Software check and settings

For supported wallboxes, we also handle the software part. Depending on the type of device, the firmware, error messages, logs, RFID access, application, internet connection, or power settings can be checked.

This part is especially important for smart wallboxes that work with user accounts, remote management, power control, or connection to other systems.

Checking cooperation with home energy systems

The service is also suitable for households where the wallbox is connected to photovoltaics, dynamic power management, or other elements of home energy management. In such cases, not only the wallbox itself is checked, but also its settings and behavior within home operation.

Charging test

Finally, the actual charging functionality and communication between the wallbox and the vehicle are verified. The technician checks whether the charging station responds correctly, starts charging, and operates without obvious operational issues.

What do you receive after servicing?

After the service is completed, the customer always receives a service report. It serves as an overview of the work performed, the condition of the device, and any recommendations.

With the full service package including electrical inspection, the customer also receives an electrical inspection report. This may be useful not only for personal records, but also in situations where it is required by an insurance company or other contractual terms.

When should you order servicing?

We recommend wallbox servicing especially if:

  • you use the wallbox regularly,
  • you charge your electric vehicle several times a week,
  • the wallbox is installed outdoors,
  • the wallbox is in a garage where temperature or humidity changes,
  • the charging cable or connector shows signs of wear,
  • the wallbox occasionally reports an error,
  • charging is unstable or slower than usual,
  • your wallbox is connected to photovoltaics,
  • you use dynamic power management,
  • you want to check RFID, the application, or remote management,
  • the wallbox has not been inspected for a longer period of time.

Where do we provide the Wallbox Service+ service?

We provide servicing for MYBOX and Olife Energy wallboxes in selected regions:

  • Moravian-Silesian Region,
  • Olomouc Region,
  • Zlín Region.

The service price does not include travel costs. Travel costs are charged according to distance at a rate of CZK 10/km excluding VAT one way, with both the outward and return journey counted.

For selected locations in Ostrava and the surrounding area, transport may be arranged individually according to agreement and the specific service route.
