Industrial gateway ICR-1602 for M2M and IoT applications
The Advantech ICR-1602 industrial gateway is an ideal solution for wireless connectivity between IP devices and cellular networks. Thanks to LTE Cat.4 technology (with 3G/2G fallback), it offers data transfer speeds of up to 150 Mbps (download) and 50 Mbps (upload).

It is designed for a wide range of industrial M2M and IoT applications, such as self-service kiosks, industrial PCs, HMI panels, traffic control units, as well as metering and UPS systems.
Network interfaces and Dual SIM
The device is equipped with dual SIM card slots, enabling automatic failover to a backup operator in case of primary network failure, along with two Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed data transmission within a local network.
Advanced security and diagnostics
The LTE gateway ensures maximum data security through VPN tunnels based on a wide range of protocols. Continuous operation without manual intervention is supported by advanced diagnostic features, including automatic connection monitoring, automatic reboot in case of connectivity loss, and a hardware watchdog that continuously monitors the overall system status. The device allows users to create and remotely switch between different configurations, for example via SMS commands or by changing the status of digital inputs. It also supports bulk firmware updates and full remote management through Advantech platforms such as WebAccess/DMP.
ICR-OS operating system
The gateway runs on the Linux-based ICR-OS operating system, which provides an open development environment. Developers can create custom applications in C/C++ or extend standard functionality using the RouterApp library. This freely available library includes a range of ready-to-use software applications tailored for specific industrial deployment needs.
Robust hardware and easy installation
The device is housed in a durable metal enclosure and designed to operate in extreme temperature conditions ranging from –40 °C to +75 °C. Its compact dimensions and integrated mounting brackets for DIN rail or wall installation allow easy integration even into small control cabinets.
