The Internet of Things (IoT) improves the way we work and live. But this is only possible with the ubiquitous, flexible and long-lasting wireless connection. At the heart of all this is a small device called IoT module, which is responsible for connecting virtually anything to wireless networks. Cinterion IoT modules come with a range of wireless capabilities and provide a range of features that can impact the success of IoT applications.
So how do you choose the right IoT module for your solution?
The Cinterion IoT module is a small electronic device built into objects, machines and things that connect to wireless networks and send and receive data. The IoT module, sometimes referred to as the "radiochip", contains the same technology and data circuits as in mobile phones, but without features such as a display or keypad. Another key feature of Cinterion IoT modules is that they always provide connectivity. This is because IoT must send data automatically, in real time, without anyone having to press the send button. In addition, they are designed for extreme durability and longevity and must work continuously for ten or more years.
Thales Gemalto Cinterion modules are available for implementation in the final device as a component, stand-alone terminal, or PCI card.
