Ethernet routers

(1)

An router is an active network device in computer networks that forwards datagrams (IP data packets) to their destination according to their IP addresses through a process called routing. The router uses a routing table that contains the most convenient routes to certain destinations and the routing metrics associated with those routes.

The cable Ethernet router connects the individual networks exclusively via an Ethernet cable. Ethernet ports allow easy connection of various devices to the Internet. The so called ethernet router usually connects to the local ISP (Wired WAN) receiver.

The wired Internet connection provided by an Ethernet router is ideal for homes or small businesses where WiFi is not required.
