The Robustel R1520LG is a new and unique LoRaWAN gateway that operates at a frequency band of 868 MHz. The LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) wireless network is designed for data transmission between IoT (Internet of Things) devices and a central control system. It is an energy-efficient, long-range network, providing wireless connectivity that enables communication over long distances, even in hard conditions such as urban areas. A specific possible scenario of using the LoRaWAN router is in sharing electricity within the community energy sector within municipalities. Two buildings where a PV plant is installed on one roof and shares the produced electricity with the other building. The buildings are distant no more than 500 meters and the control and communication takes place in the LoRa network.
Another application of this solution can be in an apartment building, where radiator sensors for remote reading of heat (calorimeters) are installed and these sensors communicate with the Robustel R1520 LORA router. Imagine that you have a whole range of such sensors for measuring humidity, temperature, weather conditions, etc. And all these sensors communicate with one router, which will process this data for you and you can evaluate it very easily.
With an integrated Chirpstack LoRa network server, the router effectively manages the operations. The R1520LG is equipped with a variety of interfaces, including 2x Ethernet, 1x RS232, 1x RS485 and USB 2.0, enabling connection to a wide range of devices. The robust metal cover offers mounting options on a DIN rail and on a wall.

Using advanced connectivity options including Chirpstack LNS and Modbus to Cloud integration, the R1520LG gateway offers unmatched connectivity and enables problem-free data transfer and management. Thanks to a robust 4G cellular network and built-in WiFi 802.11b/g/n with AP function, users can stay connected anywhere, anytime, even in remote locations.
Problem-free installation and operation
The R1520LG brings the option of PoE-PD power supply, meaning it can be powered via an Ethernet cable, which is also used for data transmission. The user-friendly interface and intuitive controlling make it easy to configure and manage, ensuring a smooth use for users of all levels.
The RobustOS operating system and free RCMS service
The Robustel R1520LG uses the RobustOS operating system, which is based on Linux and designed for use in Robustel devices. Another advantage is the free RCMS service, which enables management and monitoring of remote devices, data collection, diagnostics and remote configuration of devices connected to the Internet, thus minimizing operational overhead expenses. The gateway supports a VPN network that enables a secure connection to the Internet and security of data transmission between the device and the end network.
E2C Chirpstack software connector
The Gateway is equipped with an E2C Chirpstack software connector, which enables the connection of LoRa sensors directly to AWS and Azure cloud environments. Together with the E2C Modbus this connector enables getting the data easily from wired and wireless sensors to the cloud.
