Industrial LTE Router Robustel R1511 with Wi-Fi and RS-232
The Robustel R1511 is a compact industrial router designed for reliable communication over 2G/3G/4G (LTE Cat. 4) mobile networks. Featuring dual Ethernet ports (LAN/WAN) and an RS-232 serial interface, it is the ideal solution for securely connecting both modern and legacy devices.
This model is optimised for operation in the EMEA and SEA regions.
Flexible Connectivity and Dual Data Transmission
The router supports the 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi standard and allows data transmission to remote servers via two methods: through the cellular network (2G/3G/LTE Cat. 4) or by utilising a local Wi-Fi network.
To ensure uninterrupted operation, the router is equipped with an automatic failover function. In the event of a connection failure, it instantly switches to backup 4G/3G/2G, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi networks, ensuring maximum network availability and eliminating downtime.
Compact Design and Application Examples
With compact dimensions of 91.5 × 91.5 × 31.5 mm, the router is easily installed in confined spaces, particularly within metering and monitoring equipment:
- Energy Metering and Switchboards: Suitable for remote meter reading and switchboard monitoring. It allows Modbus-enabled electricity meters, circuit breakers, or inverters to connect to the internet without costly hardware replacements. The device reads data via LTE/Ethernet and sends it to EMS/SCADA systems. Additionally, the RCMS platform provides a tool for efficient mass management and remote updates across the entire network.
- Environmental Monitoring: The router serves as a communication interface for water level sensors and weather stations connected via RS-485. It ensures the transmission of telemetry data over LTE, performs Modbus RTU to TCP conversion, and enables complete remote oversight via RCMS cloud management.

Modbus Support
Support for Modbus RTU/TCP protocols and TCP/UDP transparent modes significantly simplifies the integration of serial devices into modern IP networks without requiring any modifications to the master applications.
RobustOS Operating System

The Robustel R1511 ensures secure encrypted connections using VPN (IPsec, WireGuard, OpenVPN).
