In this case study, we will show you how Robustel routers helped a customer with a large business. The customer is a subsidiary of a container terminal business trust in APAC. This customer is located in one of the most important container ports in the Asia-Pacific region. Here, the task is to ensure that the supply of resources, equipment and personnel who handle the transport of containers is carried out smoothly and without any problems.
What was the main challange?
3G networks were not 100% stable and Wi-Fi had to be used as a backup link. The most important condition was that there should be no more than 5% loss of packets. Containers often block the Wi-Fi signal and therefore the router must be able to use multiple access points (AP) to ensure connectivity.
The IP pager in the terminal tractor was connected to the Robustel R3000 via a network port. The router was then set up to use the 3G network as the main conenction. Wi-Fi was set as backup network. R3000 supports multi-AP connections and can therefore is able to constantly receive signals and thus ensure connection even in the harsh conditions of this port.
Thanks to successful test run, more than 1000 terminal tractors now have the R3000 installed as part of their equipment for stable connection. The customer uses thousands of different links without delay or loss of packets.
