The Teltonika OTD140 router is the ideal solution for managing and monitoring the operation on a construction site
At modern construction sites, it is important to ensure reliable outdoor connectivity for management and monitoring. To avoid damage and subsequent disruption of the network, a robust device, that can withstand extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain, low or high temperatures and increased dustiness, is needed. To ensure true efficiency, it is essential to use an industrial mobile router with built-in standardized protection mechanisms. In other words, a special outdoor router.
Teltonika Networks introduces the OTD140, the first outdoor router designed specifically for these conditions. With a resistant IP55 plastic housing, this 4G router has the ability to withstand water, precipitation and dust, while providing a reliable connection for CCTV cameras and mobile offices on construction sites.
The Teltonika OTD140 is not just an outdoor router! It is also a PoE+ router, capable of powering both CCTV cameras and a Wi-Fi TAP100 access point with PoE-in/out without the need for an additional power source and cabling.
TOPOLOGY
With the use of two OTD140 devices, an efficient topology for outdoor connectivity can be created. One OTD140 router is installed on the pole next to the CCTV camera and the other one on the roof of the container building. On the pole, the outdoor router is connected to the cameras via Ethernet. In the office, it is connected to the TAP100 Wi-Fi access point also via Ethernet, since the OTD140 itself does not have Wi-Fi features. But the OTD40 is not just an outdoor router! It is also a PoE+ router, capable of powering both CCTV cameras and a Wi-Fi access point with PoE-in/out without the need for an additional power source and cabling.
Using this topology, footage from CCTV cameras is transmitted to the office via a LTE Cat 4 cellular connection, where it can be easily viewed and stored. The office itself now has a wireless network, and in addition to carrying out all the necessary administrative work, it can also transmit camera footage.
In this case, the OTD140 PoE router is a reliable outdoor solution for a modern construction site which withstands extreme weather conditions while providing a stable and secure connection for managing and monitoring the construction process.
The OTD140 router is compatible with the Teltonika Networks' Remote Management System (RMS). This feature allows quick updates and troubleshooting. If you manage multiple construction sites from different locations, each with its own fleet of cameras, the equipment can be controlled remotely without the need for a technician to be physically present on site.
